Armando l The patiently waiting paper
Paul van Rosmalen; Antoon Melissen; Sigrid Bruijel

Few artists are as multifaceted as Armando was: writer, poet, journalist, musician, boxer, sculptor, painter and draughtsman. However well-known Armando is in many of these disciplines, he is barely known as the fierce and impassioned draughtsman he was.

A small, but nevertheless exceptionally beautiful collection of drawings from his artistic legacy are still held by the Armando Stichting, the foundation that administers his artistic legacy with admirable care. From this collection, we were able to curate a one-time selection for this exhibition.

Thanks to the pleasant and fruitful collaboration with the Armando Stichting, it has been possible to organize this exhibition and publish the accompanying catalogue. Special thanks to Sigrid Bruijel and art historian Antoon Melissen certainly are in order here.
