This work is one of only 34 Achromes that Piero Manzoni made of this type between 1961 and 1962, a number of which are in the collections of leading museums worldwide. Visser's large collection is now housed in the Kröller-Müller Museum, Otterlo, but this work was passed early on to his brother, the Dutch sculptor Carel Visser, in whose collection it has always remained.
