Jan Schoonhoven. Drawings 1951-1991
Borzo presents a solo exhibition of drawings by Jan Schoonhoven at the opening of the new gallery season. For the first time, an overview is shown of the development of his work on paper over a period of forty years, from the early 1950s to the early 1990s, emphasizing Schoonhoven's position as one of the most important Dutch artists of the second half of the twentieth century.
Schoonhoven is widely acknowledged for his groundbreaking and methodical explorations of light, form, and volume and, as a co-founder of the Dutch Nul group, held a significant position in the international post-war avant-garde movement. In addition to his drawings, a selection of reliefs will also be on view.
